Why the Differences Over What the Bible Says

The very words of the Scriptures were inspired as God gave them from Genesis through Revelation. Inspiration relates to the original autographs and there is ample evidence that God preserves His Word. In translating from one language to another the goal is to maintain the meaning contained in the original language.

Major divisions come between believers and unbelievers when it comes to understanding what the Bible says and the authority it has. When unbelievers study the Word of God, even in the original languages, they cannot understand what it says apart from first coming into a personal relationship with its Author. Understanding the Word of God doesn't come through human faculties but by, and through, the Holy Spirit of God.

Differences in Bible interpretation surface when there are inconsistencies in how different parts of the Scriptures are interpreted. Less consistency in approaching different genre results in more interpretations and less understanding of what the Bible actually says. Consistency in hermeneutics dissolves differences over what the Bible says.
