Psalm 110, Part 13

This is the concluding message in our study of Psalm 110, and it focuses on the final act of the Lord Jesus Christ as our Mediator: Christ Jesus himself bows his knees to the Father and submits the entire world to the Father as the Last Adam. The Lord Jesus Christ who is absolutely equal to the Father in his essence, voluntarily submits to the Father in his work of redemption. This is the difference between what theologians call the Ontological Trinity and the Economical Trinity -- God as he is in himself, as over against the different task that each Person in the Godhead voluntarily assumes in order to save us from hell.
