Creation's Concerto
Series Westminster Shorter Catechism
WSC #9: What is the work of creation? The work of creation is, God's making all things of nothing, by the word of his power, in the space of six days, and all very good.
Aim: To add our voice to creation's chorus of praise to the Lord.
Doctrine: The Lord is worthy of praise, because He is creator of all in heaven and earth; and the defender of some.
Exposition: Creation's concerto of praise to the Lord begins with a cascade of praise (vv. 1-6), followed by a crescendo of praise (vv. 7-10), building up to a crest of praise (vv. 11-13a), all and only for the glory of creation's Crown.
Application: Praise the Lord. Trust in the horn of defense for your salvation (v. 14a-b); be a horn of blessing to the world (v. 14c); and trumpet your horn of praise (v. 14d)!
Key phrase: v. 13a ''Let them praise the name of the LORD! For his name alone is exalted.''
