Division, Deception, Discernment

It is Satan's plan to oppose God's work, to hinder what God is accomplishing in the world, by all means at his disposal to prevent the purposes of God from being realized. He is attempting to blind the understanding, the hearts and the minds of unbelievers so that they don't perceive their lost condition, their true sinful condition. Once a person does come to Jesus Christ, satan wants to prevent him from taking in the pure milk of the word. He wants to turn him aside from the simple commitment of following Christ and being obedient to his word.

Paul wants to remind beleivers and warn them of the danger of false teachers who would turn them aside from the truth of the word of God. They would hinder their growth and mar the testimony for Christ.
