Genesis 21 - Isaac - The Child of Promise

The birth of Isaac was one of, if not THE, most important events in the Book of Genesis because his birth does not happen except God does it all. Think of it...God took a 100-year old man and a 90-year old woman, who was completely infertile and after they had waited for 25 years, and caused her to ovulate and give birth to a son. Isaac was the child of promise, who was given a name before he was conceived, came when God's timing was in place, when no one could think this was anything less than a complete miracle, at a time appointed by God Almighty! Was great is he is a type of the Messiah to whom the exact same thing can be said!
