Two Kinds of Kings

In light of the enmity which God promised as a response to the Fall, we find in contrast to judgment. God did not declare enmity against all men, just against those who followed after the serpent, Satan himself. In that moment we find two families, serving two heads, two kings, Christ and the Devil. Those who seek salvation in Christ Jesus are given life. Those who worship the gods of this earth, those phenomenal manifestations of demonic power embrace death. The king of the idolatrous is not a king who can save, but only bring condemnation and death.
