True Discipleship (Part 1)

Real treasure for Paul was not that which benefited him, but that which advanced Christ's cause and if that required Paul's death, then that is what he would glory in. The natural man's idea of reward and Paul's idea of reward are very different. Until our greatest desire is to see the Kingdom advanced and until what is most precious to us, is Christ being glorified, we will find ourselves at odds with Paul's position. However, if the advancing of the Kingdom is our greatest treasure, then this will greatly impact how we view all of life. It will impact how we use our time and resources; it will greatly change how we plan for the future and it will shape the goals we have for ourselves and our families. The true disciple seeks to have as his focus for everything, the glorifying of Christ through the advancing of His Kingdom. Where your treasure is, there your heart will be.
