Our Mediator Ensures Our Eternal Inheritance
Series The Book of Hebrews
Already the writer of Hebrews has declared Christ as the mediator of a better covenant (c.f. 8:6). However, in 9:15, the writer explains what he means by this. That is, the promise of an eternal inheritance given to Abraham could not be fulfilled until Christ initiated a new covenant.
But that eternal inheritance isn't merely a geographical place to "call home". No, this eternal inheritance means an everlasting communion with God. So, as the better mediator of a better covenant, all of God's people will receive redemption. Even those who committed "transgressions committed under the first covenant."
