SAMUEL: Called & Consecrated!

King Saul was helped when he was humble, but humbled when he became proud (1 Samuel 9-15). His predecessor as leader of Israel was Samuel.

Samuel stands in contrast to Saul. Samuel, whose name means "heard by God," heard God's call and remained consecrated to God throughout his life.

After God heard Hannah's prayer (1 Samuel 1), God called Samuel. Samuel heard God's call and listened (1 Samuel 3:1-10).

Samuel was consecrated to speak for God (1 Samuel 3:17-19). He was consecrated in how he lived for God (1 Samuel 12:1-5). He was consecrated to speak to God in prayer (1 Samuel 7:5, 8-11; 12:16-25).
