Gospel Affection

Aim: To be more fully engaged in the love in and spread of the gospel.

Doctrine: Christ, as comprehended in the gospel, is the epicenter of the highest and warmest love. This gospel affection starts with and gravitates toward God, as it powerfully binds the entire church together.

Exegesis: The beauty of gospel affection: it unites us in one enduring (vv. 3-6), determined (v. 7), and endearing (v. 8) purpose.

Further application: How to experience gospel affection: first, embrace the message of grace; then, encourage the messengers of grace.
