Unity Under False Religion

This passage of Scripture is all about unifying the world under false religion. Implicit in these verses is a sharp contrast between king Nebuchadnezzar's method of advancing his kindgom and the peaceful advancement of the Kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ. These truths are unfolded in this sermon under the three sections of the text: 1) The image itself and its significance; 2) The dedication ceremony; and 3) The intolerance and repression characteristic of false religion. The sermon also seeks to show that a Christian government by constitutional establishment does not necessitate intolerance and repression of those who do not embrace the Christian faith.
