Sin's Stronghold

Sin’s stronghold is strengthened by Christians who bind us to the Law as a means of sanctification. The Law is not a means to sanctification; grace is. Paul makes this abundantly clear in this chapter. The Law demonstrates you fall short of God's glory, and it reveals the righteous and holy character of God. But the Law cannot justify, and it cannot sanctify. This is the thrust of Paul's argument in the rest of Romans 7.
