The Unity of the Covenant Family

This verse is a summary of the shared joy of the Godhead and the people of the covenant. The Father is interested in His own people instructed in the work of the Son, and the interests of the Holy Spirit in working within them. Christ speaks here of people not of things; the perfections of His nature, of the works that He performed, and of the doctrine that He taught were all of God's intent and purpose. The creature may feel unable to honor God but they do so simply by living in the world with a new heart, a new nature, and a new destiny.
