Talk With Neil deGrasse Tyson. Who does this? Why… A Cliffside listener, of course
Series The Book of Joel
We are back from our summer break. Summer lasted for a whole week and a half! What. It’s Alaska. Our pastor describes how his working vacation went. That’s right… Lori did most of the work while pastor held the ladder.
We have mail. It’s a common thing for us to read the comments from the “vast” internet audience. This one again is from one of our many intellectuals, Lord James (as our pastor has named him), and it’s really quite good. Not quite as profound as our last letter, but very advantageous. I would not want to go up against this guy if I were on the side that disagrees with him. Jim just happens to see a recognized “expert” in the physics world, Neil deGrasse Tyson, sitting on a bench in Texas. So, he sits down to converse with him. Just wait ‘till you hear the transcript.
What we have to understand is, this is actually a discussion on Joel. It’s about “Time”. So, our pastor takes the ‘time’ to help us understand the exchange. If I were to try and write down this part of the lecture, it wouldn’t help, but trust me... you will be greatly entertained if you listen for yourself. (Or not... if you’re not weird like us)
Is the whole lecture on Quantum Mechanics? Nay, dear listener. Some of us would like it so, but alas, we do move on to a discussion of, “All sevens return to the first seven” ... eventually. And that’s because of another lengthy letter from Shannon from Texas. This is great stuff. So, write to our pastor with your observations and questions. Or just encourage him.
We thank all of you out there for listening. Now it’s time. Get out your TextBook and a note taking device. Press play and the advanced class wondrously begins.
