God's Gifts, God's Glory

It would be tempting to some to rush through this passage. After all, what can be learned from reading a list of warriors. Yet, there is much in this passage. As we read of David's mighty men, it points us to the day when the saints will receive their reward. We see here encouragement to persevere and to use the gifts God has given us for His glory. There are lessons on contentment and much that might be missed if we didn't bear in mind that the Lord preserved this in His Word for a reason.
