Grandparents: Finishing Strong As A Senior Citizen

The Bible says that “grandchildren are the crown of old men” – this is a gift given to them by their children. We do nothing to deserve grandchildren, nor do we have any part in their conception nor birth, they are simply a gift – unearned and undeserved. The reciprocal gift that we give our children is our conduct in our final years here on earth. The rest of the passage goes on to say, “and the glory of the sons is their father” What is our gift to our sons? That we behave with dignity and godliness in our later years. So giving ourselves to the Lord and His service so as to bring glory to our sons. We do not embarrass our children by our sloth, by our sin nor by the indignity of youthful sins but rather we finish strong in the Lord. This is our gift to them - unearned, undeserved.
