Ruth #2: Return to the Promised Land

Naomi returns to the Promised Land -- not just physically, but the Hebrew word for "return" signifies repentance and a turning back to her God. On the way she argues with her daughter-in-laws and three times commands them to return to Moab. One gives in; the other, Ruth, clings to Naomi. In choosing to cling to Naomi she embraces the hardship of an uncertain future, while uttering the one of the most profound statements of love and faith in the entire Bible.
