Yahweh's Opposition to Evil

The prophecy of Nahum reveals that Yahweh is opposed to Nineveh's evil, as well as the fact that He is the standard of righteousness and judgment. Nineveh and the Assyrians, on the other hand, were the embodiment of evil. But they reap their just reward in that Yahweh's punishment of their evil will be thorough and unreserved. This destruction of Nineveh enables the Hebrew nation and its holy remnant to live through whom later would come Messiah, Savior of the world.
