The Book of Nahum talks about The Comfort of Accountability

Christians can draw comfort from the fact that those who persecute them will certainly one day be called into account. No one is a able to sin with impunity. It may seem that sinners get away with it in this life - but you can be sure that that they will not be able to escape the ultimate Judgment of God.

The Judgment of God however, does not always await Judgement Day. God has established proper authorities who are able to hold men accountable here on the earth.
