Combatting Anger with God’s Armor

The sermon, drawn from Ephesians 4:17–5:2, confronts the pervasive yet often hidden danger of sinful anger, distinguishing it from God's righteous indignation and emphasizing its spiritual, relational, and demonic consequences. It identifies anger as a wrathful response to perceived injustice that, when unchecked, escalates through stages—from bitterness and wrath to clamor and malice—each degree poisoning relationships, grieving the Holy Spirit, and giving Satan a foothold.

The message underscores that anger is not merely emotional but active, all-encompassing, and accusatory, rooted in disordered desires rather than divine justice. Yet, rather than relying on self-effort, the sermon calls believers to victory through the armor of God, where Christ Himself is the source of truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and the Word, enabling a transformation that replaces sinful anger with godly, grace-filled responses.

By embracing spiritual warfare through prayer, Scripture, and the Spirit's renewal, believers are empowered to reflect Christ's character and walk in love as He did.
