Turning the Tables

Having answered all of the Pharisees' questions, Jesus now turns the tables on them by asking a few questions of his own. In so doing, he exposes their profound ignorance of Scripture and theology, their active unbelief and their skewed sense of priorities. He unmasks them, practicing the theological discipline called "Elenctics." At the heart of Jesus' questions is the crucial issue for all of life -- who is the Christ? Whose son is He? How do you answer that question?
