The cursed man

The prophet Jeremiah speaks resonating truth about the cursed man and the blessed man. The pivot between these two absolute states is the object of our trust: the cursed man trusts in man; the blessed man trusts in the Lord. Here we consider the sin that the Lord identifies with regard to the cursed man—trusting in man; the ugly root of that sin—a heart that departs from the Lord; and, the fearful and fatal consequences of that sin—a barren place, a fruitless life, and an empty prospect.
