The Story of the Amalekites
Series Difficult Texts of the OT
The story of the Amalekites is one of the longest running stories in the OT. In 1 Samuel 15, Saul was told to finally bring the promised judgment on the Amalekites. Unbelievers often find this command to be both shocking and another example of God's cruelty. But it is Saul's disobedience that Scripture highlights as shocking.
This sermon also briefly deals with the charge of genocide and makes practical applications of this story for today.
