Christ the Living Head

Christ, and Christ alone is 'head of the body, the church.' Christ is the church's living head, that is, the source of the church's life. Each constituent member, in union with Christ, is like unto a tributary through which life flows into the larger body, the church. The church must refuse the enticement to seek what seems to be life from other sources.
