040 Jabbering up Your Faith 1

What a nice guy! We get along so well! We just don't seem to disagree on anything! Faithful was amazed at this new friend; he had all of the qualities that he desired in a friend, and he saw a long happy future together.

Unfortunately, there was a problem. Even though he was so taken up with this new "celebrity", Christian, his travelling companion seemed to have developed a bad attitude. What could be bothering Christian? Why is it that when you take a real shine to someone you have just met that there is always some grumpy friend who must relentlessly apply the brakes?

Here Bunyan is helping us to learn some discretion. How can we deal with a person we have just met, and he seems to be the best thing since sliced cheese, while someone else thinks he shouldn't been touched with a barge pole? Bunyan's words of caution rang true centuries ago from his prison cell, and they still strike the bull's eye today.
