Here Paul handles the issue of slavery, which was a common practice in the world during the First century A.D., and many years after that. He is not talking about changing it, but applying Christian ethics to the situation. In essence it gives direction to employer/employee relationships in our day. The word of God provides solutions and guidance in every area of life.
