Protecting the Servants of God, Part Two The Church Militant

There is one primary lesson to be learned from this first natural division of the book (chap-ters 4–8): THE UNIVERSE IS GOVERNED FROM THE THRONE!
a. Chapters 4 and 5 are not a description of heaven. They picture heaven’s reign over all his-tory.
b. The vision is intended to give us such a view of God’s sovereign throne of majesty as to cause us to tremble before Him.
“The LORD reigns; let the peoples tremble! He sits enthroned upon the cherubim; let the earth quake!” (Psa. 99:1)
