Caution on End Times Speculation

Introduction: This is a difficult passage to interpret.

I. Exposition:

A. The Problems (vv. 1-2). Paul battles those who believe the day of Christ has already come.

B. 'The falling away' and 'the man of sin' (vv. 3-8).

II. Spiritual Reflections:

1. A caution against fruitless and distracting end times speculations.

2. God sovereignly and graciously restrains evil.

3. God will easily roll back the tide of sin and smash the man of sin at the coming of Chnrist.
