The God Who Does What He Says

The narrative of this story extends back to Gen. 11:30, "Now Sarai was barren..." Yahweh's promise to give Abraham a son, along with a multitude of descendants, seemed impossible, since Abraham was now in his late 90's and his wife, Sarah, was nearly 90. It was not until many years later after it was first made that the Lord's promise of a son to this elderly couple came to pass. The reality is that it did come to pass because God said it would. As we see not only from this incident, but throughout the Old and New Testaments, God does what he says he will do. Perhaps the greatest promise God has made, that he will be our God and we will be his people, will be fulfilled when Christ returns and we shall be in his presence forever.
