Elijah's Courage on Carmel

As you look at Elijah’s ministry you see how God prepares him over a number of years of the battle would have Mount Carmel.

He uses the valleys in Elijah’s life to prepare him for ministry on the Mountain Top.

On Mount Carmel you see one of Elijah’s greatest victories as he defeats the false prophets of his day and in doing so brings in revival to the nation of Israel.

Elijah's preparations:

1. He was willing to pay the price of service and courageously confronted the King.

2. He called God’s people to draw near to the place of sacrifuice. V20, v30 Gods people were to be on the Mountain Top to witness the victory and to witness for the victory.

3. He told them to make up their minds, choose who they follow. V 20

4. He rebuilt the Altar of the Lord….Altars of the Lord were neglected. Are ours?

5. He presented a sacrifice before the people. A sin offering
