Series Galatians
- The two sons: Ishmael and Isaac — and two mothers: Hagar and Sarah (vs. 21-23)
- These two symbolize two covenants/systems (vs. 24a)
a. Hagar & Ishmael – the law of Mt. Sinai tied to the present earthly Jerusalem in bondage. (vs. 24b-25)
b. Isaac & Sarah — The free grace of God tied to the Jerusalem above which is free (vs. 26) - The two systems compared and contrasted (vs. 27-28)
- The persecution to be expected by true sons from the false (v. 29)
- The solution in the lives of Galatians and Christians today (vs. 30-31)
