Critical Questions | How can we know the way?

How can we know the way?

While God is everywhere present, there is a place where He gloriously manifests His presence, heaven. Jesus confirms in John 14:1-6 that this Jewish belief was true. There are many "abodes." The path Jesus took on leaving the Upper Room via the cross, becoming the substitute for sinners, was to prepare a place for all who would come through Him. Jesus could announce "I am the Way." This statement rules out Religious Pluralism i.e., that all religions are valid and ultimately lead to God. Rather, it is affirming Christian Exclusivism, Jesus is the only way; He is the saviour of the world. As "the way" He brings near those who are at a distance from God. As "the truth" he is the one who reveals the Father and His saving plan. As "the life" He imparts eternal life to all who trust alone in Him.
