1. Introduction

Paul’s wrote several of his epistles while he was in prison in Rome. Ephesians was written about 60-62 AD. The letter to the Ephesians is one of the prison epistles. Those consist of Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians and Philemon. These books were all written while Paul was in jail for preaching God’s Word. As to how many times Paul was imprisoned in Rome we do not know for sure, it was at least once perhaps twice, however we do know these books were written during his imprisonment. The book of Acts which provides us with most of what we know about Paul ended before Paul’s life ended.
