God is LOVE. Look at man, look at YOU and ME in our sin. Yet Christ takes us on, He owns us and pays the tab to make us new. We are even adopted by God because of Christ. This is truly an amazing love that does not leave us in our sin and purifies us as He sanctifies our lives.
