God Loved Jacob

For our second-hour service, Pastor Simpson answered the question, "Why did God love Jacob?". We considered how Esau despised his birthright, but how he despised it his entire life. Esau had absolutely no right to blame God for the loss of his birthright, for he sold it in carelessness and without hesitation. Conversely, Jacob was providentially ordained to desire the birthright, to value it; but God foreordained that Jacob would love the birthright. So, in today's message, Pastor Simpson answered the question perfectly according to the Scriptures, how and why God loved Jacob. Is God obligated to love rebels? In Genesis 27:38, we see Esau repenting... At the end, once he realized that everything was not ok, he wept after realizing what he had done.
