Great Expectations

After Jesus finished teaching on the Mount about the Kingdom of God, He left for Capernaum and as was His custom, when He saw a need He filled it, healing many people. His cousin, John, was imprisoned by Herod and when John heard about what Jesus was doing, he sent some of his followers to Jesus to ask, are you the Expected One or do we need to look for someone else? John had expectations for the Messiah that he did not think Jesus was fulfilling. In effect, he was doubting himself and needed reassurance...and Jesus gave him the reassurance he needed.
