The Early Parables Of Jesus 7

INTRO: It is some time since we were dealing with the early parables of Jesus. These parables, in my understanding, are given in preparation for a big change that is coming. The change is from the old covenant to the new. And because the Jews will reject Christ, it will be a change from God working in one nation, to where the Church age will begin, and His servants will go into all the world to establish the Church in the world. And the principles taught in the sermon on the Mount, in which we find the first parables, will hold true for the Church age.

We have looked at the city with a wide gate and a narrow gate. There will be a true path to glory, the narrow road; and there will be a false path, the wide gate. And the warning in our passage is that there will be false prophets. And it is crucial to understand in every part of the Church age how to recognize false prophets. Let me say this again about false prophets, and I am giving my opinion, though many others hold it too. False prophets do not know they are false prophets. False prophets are very nice people. False prophets love a positive message like love. False prophets are also willing to leave many truths out. False prophets quite often become martyrs for what they believe.
