A.  His Confession before men 

	Think about what this thief knew and had seen:
	1.  He heard Jesus pray the prayer of forgiveness for those who crucified him.
	2.  He had witnessed Christ's demeanor on the way to Calvary.
	3.  He had heard Christ's words to the daughters of Jerusalem.
	4.  The very cries that he himself had made, and that those around the cross were 					uttering could have been used to awaken his conscience.
	5.  As a Jew he had no doubt been trained in the rudimentary aspects of Scripture.

A.  Death Bed Repentances

	1.  There are those who are saved at the very end of their life.
		
	2.  This incident must not be misused to excuse putting off repentance until later.

B.  The incident clearly shows that salvation is by faith alone.

	
C.  The words of the thief as an example of salvation
	
	1.  He rebuked his fellow sinner.
	2.  He made a full confession of his own, personal guilt.
	3.  He bravely defended the Lord.
	4.  He directed his prayer to Jesus.
	5.  He asked for the right thing.
	6.  He was humble in his request
	7.  He demonstrated tremendous faith in that prayer.
