The Prologue of the Covenant

Moses prepares the people of Israel to enter the Promised Land by declaring to them the law of God. He explains with some detail how they are to consider themselves as God’s people, how they are to understand God’s law for them, and how they are to live under the Covenant of Sinai in this new Land. The book of Deuteronomy influences much of the rest of the Scriptures. A better understanding of this book will give us a better understanding of our Savior. This sermon introduces the book of Deuteronomy by calling attention to our desperate need for a mediator who will declare the law of God to us.
