The Command to Think (Part 1)

Paul now commands right thinking as a cure for worry. Godly thinking and the developing a Christian mind are utterly important in the Christian life. This is such an important subject that two sermons were devoted to the importance of the mind and thinking in the Christian life.

In this first sermon, the biblical understanding of the relationship between the mind and emotions is covered. As the mind perceives, the emotions (and affections and will) respond. So it is utterly important for the Christian to fill his mind with divine thoughts and to control his mind.

John Owen wrote: “That good which the mind cannot discover, the will cannot choose, and the affections cannot cleave to.”
