The Two Resurrections

Aim: To be firmly convinced of the two resurrections of the dead.

Exegesis: Let us firmly believe in the bodily resurrection, which is not impeded by our sinfulness (vv. 18-23), our ignorance (v. 24), or our circumstances (v. 25). Let us believe in the spiritual resurrection, which comes first (v. 26), brings life (v. 27a), and is key (v. 27b).

Key verse: v. 26 ''But concerning the dead, that they rise, have you not read in the book of Moses, in the burning bush passage, how God spoke to him, saying, 'I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'?''
