The Council of Trent
Series Reformation History
As the Reformation began to spread across Europe, the Catholic church formed the Council of Trent in attempt to put down this mighty work of God. The Council of Trent met from 1545 to 1563. It consisted of men in liturgical offices within the Catholic church. These men deemed that the teachings of the Reformation were anathema or damned. These cannons and deeds only placed fuel on the fire that the Lord started in the hearts of faithful men.
