Because You are Still Alive

This morning we have come to the tender story of Joseph's being re-united with his beloved father. Theirs was a very special relationship. This passage shows us that it was not only that Jacob had a great and special love for his son Joseph, but it ought to be very obvious that Joseph had a very great and special love for his father as well. Joseph's love to his father Jacob and the way that he expresses here, are a good picture of Christ's love for His kinsmen after the flesh, the Jews, who will one day come to understand that He is alive and that He is their Savior and Lord. And so the question that I would like to ask at this hour is this – How is Joseph's meeting his father Jacob similar to the meeting of Christ and His ancient people the Jews, on the day of their conversion as a nation? I would assert to you that the actions and emotions of Joseph and Jacob towards each other on the occasion of this meeting, are very much like what the actions and emotions of our Lord Jesus and the Jews will be like on that glorious day. Let me give you 4 evidences from our text that this is so.
