The Faith of Abraham, Part 1
Series Hebrews
Abraham is God's answer to the rebellion at the Tower of Babel. He was called from the land of Mesopotamia to fulfill God's plan to have His own portion among the sons of men. 70 nations were left to the watchers, many of whom were fallen angels in rebellion against God. The Lord determined to have His portion (Deut. 32:8, 9). It is through this people claimed by God as His own that He will bring the "seed of the woman" (Gen. 3:15) into the world.
This call illustrates obedient faith in God. It begins weak and floundering, but ends in full confidence, being tested, and proven, and strengthened through the Word of God and work of the Spirit.
Abraham is the great illustration of obedient faith.
