Two statements in verse 16 signal that Paul has experienced a massive shift in his thinking. The old perspective, on Paul's own admission, was a perspective shaped entirely by the flesh. When Paul met the risen Christ, the new perspective shaped by the proper theology of the cross, gave Paul a radically new view of ministry, of Christ, and of all things. This message examines how Paul formerly thought about things according to the flesh and contrasts it with the new perspective shaped by the cross.
