1 Peter 1 - Part 35-Preparation for Suffering 35
Series 1 Peter 1
As the tide turns against believers in this nation, it is good to remind ourselves of what is expected of us and what has been provided for us, so we may be prepared if and when we come under intensified persecution for Him. This is a study of the need to gird up the loins of our minds in preparation for suffering for our Lord. The lesson is that we are to be prepared in our minds for suffering for Him and our confidence is not to be in the things of this life but in the sure things of our hope in all His promises to us when He comes back for His body the church. This hope of eternal blessings in Christ prompts us to be obedient in all things. Since we are to be holy in all our behavior, we can only accomplish this as we yield to Him and by the power of the Holy Spirit we walk in the wonderful love of God. Our God is at work in us to conform us to Jesus Christ. He trains us as His children through all the things that come into our lives. He can and does use the most difficult things to work our for our good or for our edification in Christ. Here we continue our look at some of what the Word of God has to say about God’s testing of His own in this life. Testing is for our good and we should therefore embrace it with joy as it comes from His loving and holy hand. Here we look at how our Lord uses testing to prove us right as we walk in obedience to Him.
