Spiritual Independence Day (pt 1)

After studying the facts surrounding America's Independence, the sermon turns to studying how an individual can experience true independence.

What is the biblical definition of faith?
Grace is necessary for salvation because nobody deserves heaven; mercy is necessary because God's justice demands that God judge the guilty.
It is important to understand that the offer of God's grace and His mercy does not exclude man's responsibility of acting upon that extended mercy and grace. In fact, God does not save a person by grace except by grace THROUGH faith. Where there is no faith, God's extended grace is thwarted.

Faith has layers or parts within the whole. These layers or aspects can be identified by the acronym KAT or knowledge, assent, trust.
