The Eternal Phase

The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit agreed before the creation of the world that they would create and love a people. Those people the Trinity knew would fall, so they agreed to save those people from their sins and redeem them to heaven. Man was not involved in this agreement except as the beneficiary. Not all of humanity was encompassed in this contract, but God elected a people from mankind to bestow His love. This Eternal Phase of salvation was carried out and fulfilled by the eternal Godhead.
