The Power of the Word

After Jesus was rejected by the Jewish leaders, representing the nation, He began to teach those who were listening using parables. In His emphasis on the power of the Word of God which was His teaching, He revealed that most will fail to believe and receive the Word. He gave three reasons for the Word not benefiting the hearers as well as the effects of the Word when it is believed. It will bear fruit in every true believer with varying magnitudes at the time of harvest. God has revealed Himself in His Son by His Spirit through His Word. That means for the believer the Word of God is of utmost importance to know God, to live right, and to be transformed into the person God has created each one to be. It is the Word of God when learned and lived out that therein makes each believer able and ready to serve the Lord in the capacity He has so chosen.
