Signs and Wonders Today

When Paul and Barnabas came to Iconium they were able to work great signs and wonders. These were real happenings which were the normal province of apostles to work. These miracles were not infrequent although they were not done all the time. They effected remarkable healings and were not like the modern ‘signs and wonders' where the healings are sometimes temporary and often questionable. The purpose of these miracles was to give authority to the actions and teachings of the apostles.

These signs and wonders help to show us today why we should rely upon the teachings of these remarkable figures. From the Bible we are to preach the signs and wonders that the apostles worked as proof today of the truth of Scripture. There are still miracles today and healings. The greatest miracle is the new birth which is greatly undervalued in the professing evangelical church.
